Oil, olives, oranges, honey, meat, food in oil, cherries and origan are the typical agricultural products of the Pantalica’s territory and of Anapo valley. These products change depending on the nature of the land and on the climate. The primary sector contains few but excellent products, which have been protected by European Community. Products such as honey, extra virgin olive oil, milk and bovine meat, dairy products, almonds, preserves, jams   have obtained the biological certifications. Some of them, such as honey and almonds, are used to prepare the typical “giggiulena”, a kind of nougat based on sesame, honey and almonds.
the  Sicilian pecorino DOP ( which have received the biological certification) and the typical “ricotta” ,that is a kind of cottage cheese, are very spread in the area. As far as  the cold meats and salami is concerned the  handmade sausages of Palazzolo Acreide are worthy of being mentioned.
